As a faculty member, I am encouraged by the University to engage in wide range of activities outside of the University. Examples include serving on boards of directors for outside entities, starting an outside company, holding public office, or even serving as an elected official. Faculty consulting in these types of institutions builds the reputation of the University, and also supports and promotes the interests of my students and other researchers. I offer private consulting on city, transportation, and regional planning through a variety of means, with a specialty in reimagining and redesigning streets for safety, livability, and specifically for pedestrians and bicyclists.
